We're pleased to announce the first public release of Eagle Eyes Mirada,
the successor to Eagle Eyes Scan.
Mirada is Spanish for the act of looking: a gaze, a view.

This is a Beta release. It's ready to use today, but it's not perfect yet and you can expect some bugs.
We're developing rapidly, and it will be improving fast.

From Scan to Mirada
Eagle Eyes Scan had one job: help search and rescue teams find clues in drone footage. It did that job on real searches, and it also showed us the limits of its foundation. So we rebuilt from scratch. Mirada is the result:
- Everything Scan does. Footage from most drone brands and models, computer vision detection on live or recorded imagery, colour and confidence sorting, large datasets, fully offline.
- And a lot Scan couldn’t. Footage, map, and timeline are interconnected, with live drones and aircraft displaying on the map, along with livestream sharing, CalTopo sync, and much more.
If you fly with Eagle Eyes Pilot, you’ve already met Mirada: your livestreams have been opening in it.
Today it steps out on its own.
Why we built Mirada
Teams keep telling us about the same pain point: conveniently storing, organizing, and sharing their drone data. Shuffling SD cards and hard drives, navigating Google Drive, OneDrive, and Dropbox containers with ambiguous folder structures and file names, hours of video and thousands of images.
The amount of data a team collects can be overwhelming, and a lot of it never gets reviewed. Not for lack of will, but because there’s no convenient way to get it in front of the people who could review it, in a form they can actually work through. That same friction makes it harder to share footage, coordinate across a team, and bring in remote support.
That’s the problem Mirada is built to solve:
- Keep footage organized by case, and search it by place and time.
- Conveniently search and analyze an organized set of drone media.
- Hand off a curated, organized dataset as a package in a convenient format to another organization, such as a team providing mutual aid, or make it available to remote team members supporting search and analysis from afar.
This beta is an early step toward that vision, with the sharing and hand-off pieces coming soon. We’re building it right from the start, with security and privacy built in from day one.
What Mirada can do
Load and view your drone data
Point Mirada at a folder or SD card and load whatever you’ve captured: images, video, 360s, and orthomosaic maps. Mirada is built to be drone-agnostic and can ingest images and video from any drone. We’ve tested it across a wide range of drones; if you have any trouble getting Mirada to work with your drone’s media, reach out and we’ll get on it.
- Connect an SD card or import images, video, and 360° captures; Mirada reads the metadata, organizes your media chronologically by type, and places it on the map.
- Reads flight metadata from DJI media (both SRT files and embedded in the video and images), plus Autel, Skydio, Wingtra, and Parrot drones.
- Navigate your media from the side panel, view and zoom into any frame, and cycle through imagery.
- On the map, see the drone’s location, each image draped in place, and the per-image camera field of view.
- Use the time bar to move through videos and image sets in sync with the map, in 2D or 3D Alpha.
- Search and organize your media, read the full metadata, and export individual images.
Run the Eagle Eyes detector on your footage
Too much footage and limited capacity to review it? Mirada is designed to help solve that problem:
- Run the Eagle Eyes computer vision detector on your video or images to find anomalies that you might otherwise miss.
- The Mosaic view lays out every detection as a grid of thumbnails that you can sort by confidence, time, or colour.
- Bookmark a find with a single keystroke.
- Upload detections or points of interest from Mirada to your CalTopo map.
Detections are leads, not necessarily conclusions. Mirada puts candidate clues in front of a human; it doesn’t decide for you.
Connect Mirada to CalTopo
- Link a CalTopo map and sync in either direction: push detections, bookmarks, and drone tracks out to the team map, and pull CalTopo features back into Mirada.
- Connect once with a CalTopo service account so Mirada stays linked without signing in again.
- TAK support is coming soon, as another way to push your operating picture to the tools your team already runs.
Multi-drone coordination, viewing live streams, and airspace awareness
One live map for coordinating multiple drones, sharing their live streams, and deconflicting with everything else in the air:
- Run multiple drones live in Mirada and jump between their live streams.
- Connect to a live stream, or share one with anyone by link or QR code; no account required to watch.
- Scrub back in time while a stream is still live; on desktop, record streams and run the detector on them as they come in.
- See every drone alongside your CalTopo map, with imagery and flight positions all in one place.
- See airspace and live NOTAMs.
- See nearby manned aircraft via ADS-B, from DJI’s AirSense.
Remote ID: connect a receiver, see live drones
Remote ID is the position most drones now broadcast as they fly (what is Remote ID?). Mirada turns those broadcasts into live drones on your map:
- Connect an Eagle Eyes RID receiver over USB, or pair a DroneTag Rider, DroneTag Scout, or DroneScout Bridge.
- Live drones from connected receivers appear on Mirada’s map.
- See DJI or Autel drones broadcasting Remote ID, or any other drone fitted with a DroneTag RID transmitter, whether or not it’s running Eagle Eyes Pilot.
(Note: like most RID receivers, ours listens on 2.4 GHz, where the majority of drones broadcast Remote ID. Skydio drones broadcast on 5.8 GHz and are not currently picked up.)

- The command bar: tap Shift twice and type to jump to a map location, a bookmark, a setting, or a help article.
- Screen capture: record or screenshot Mirada itself, saved back into the case as replayable footage.
- Keyboard shortcuts: playback, zoom, channel switching, bookmarking, are all a single key away.
- Deep Zoom: many DJI enterprise drones can sweep their zoom camera across a scene to capture a fan of telephoto tiles; in DJI Pilot 2 (coming soon to Eagle Eyes Pilot), look for the High-Res Grid Photo capture mode. Mirada stitches the tiles into one composite you can dive into at up to 512× zoom, versus about 32× for a normal photo.
- Detection on orthomosaic maps: run the detector on orthomosaics, not just videos and photos.
Works with or without Eagle Eyes Pilot
Mirada and Eagle Eyes Pilot are built to be part of the same operating picture. Live video and live telemetry flow straight from the drone into Mirada, and you can share the link. Anyone you share it with can follow along, seeing what the drone sees in relation to where it is, with your detections and CalTopo map alongside.
- Free local live streaming: when the drone controller and the machine running Mirada are on the same local network, streaming is free and very low latency, a high-quality live stream over local Wi-Fi.
- Metered pay-as-you-go remote live streaming: for anyone watching from outside that local network.
Works offline
Mirada is built to be able to operate offline. Import from an SD card in the field, run the detector, review, bookmark, export: none of that needs an internet connection. Features that reach beyond your machine, like internet livestreams, CalTopo sync, and online base maps, need a connection, as you’d expect.

Many of the features of this early release are available for free. Access to the Eagle Eyes detector is available for current Eagle Eyes subscribers.
What about Scan?
Moving forward, we’re putting all of our development and support into Mirada and sunsetting Scan from our product offering: we will no longer be supporting or maintaining Scan. Scan and existing licenses keep working today, but if you’re a Scan user, we’d love for you to bring your next search to Mirada and tell us what’s missing. We want that feedback: it’s how we’ll make Mirada better.
